Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi held talks with Muslim leaders on April 9th and urged for the formation of a coalition against Israel to liberate Palestine, Ynet reports.
Against the backdrop of tensions in Israel and the events at Al-Aqsa, Raisi spoke with leaders from Syria, Algeria, and Turkmenistan about the importance of Muslim unity against Israel. He also spoke with Erdogan, who emphasized the same message.
Raisi had a phone conversation with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on the same day, where they discussed recent events and issues regarding their countries' relations. Iran has been trying to call an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation due to the situation in the holy site and tension in the Palestinian territory.
