Following the agreement inked in Astana on October 2022, a draft resolution 'On the approval of an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the health care field' was unveiled on April 4.
The document provides for cooperation in the following areas:
Combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, including pandemics;
Training and capacity-building for health workers and the development of joint projects, including safe motherhood and skills training and neonatal resuscitation programs to prevent maternal and infant mortality;
Ensuring academic mobility (the Ministry of Health of Turkey will provide assistance related to the implementation of academic mobility of teaching staff between the Health Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Higher Education Council of Turkey);
The hospital management system of public health organizations;
Improvement of health statistics;
Quality of medical services and accreditation in the health sector;
Cooperation in nursing activities;
Cooperation, exchange of information and experience in the field of pharmaceutical activities, medical products, equipment, and vaccine development;
Exchange of knowledge and expertise in the development of health legislation;
Strengthening direct cooperation among their organizations to exchange experiences and further develop joint activities, with particular emphasis on the exchange of experts and health workers;
Collaboration with international organizations active in the field of health, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Organization of Turkic States (OTS);
Exploring, developing, implementing, and sharing experiences in health investment and opportunities for cooperation in various investment models, including public-private partnerships;
Implementation and development of states' best practices in digital health care.
Exchange of knowledge and experience on strengthening cooperation in the field of health,
Mutual visits by delegations, experts, and medical personnel;
Organization of meetings, business forums, exhibitions, and congresses in the healthcare system;
Cooperation between health institutions;
Creating a joint working group.
