Since the textile industry plays an essential role in the global industry, which currently amounts to more than $1 trillion, introducing digital solutions and new technologies is a timely and relevant task to remain competitive in the global market.
At the same time, digital transformation carries both opportunities and risks.
The need to observe foresight and caution in this complex landscape was mentioned at the recent forum' Digital textiles: Development of the textile industry through IT solutions, the Uztextileprom reports.
At the forum, a new digital strategy for developing the textile industry in Uzbekistan was presented, including current areas in which the industry should develop further.
Through such an event, the association declares the transformation of its activity to render consulting services through the Single Window system, which is also a digitalization product.
In this regard, the association strongly supports and promotes projects that ensure the transformation of the production format: from economical cost models to smart production, digital factories, creating a product considering the end-users' interests, using IT technologies, etc.
Now the textile industry is only starting its transition to digital technology. To create a sustainable and circular textile industry, future professionals should comprehend and use all opportunities of digitization to save costs and resources. The press service reads that this is the only way to radically change the world's oldest industry.
Uzbekistan this year intends to expand its textile exports up to $5bn and implement 76 new projects. It is also planned to increase the volume of industrial production by 6% compared to last year so that it reaches UZS 85 trillion.
