President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that $8bn in investments will be directed to Tashkent in 2025. The statement was made during his visit to the Shaykhantahur district of the capital on July 10.

According to the presidential press service, the head of state reviewed ongoing development efforts in construction, industry, and public services in the Shaykhantahur neighborhoods. He visited the “Yangi Kamolon” neighborhood and spoke with local residents.
“In recent years, many enterprises have been opened, and the economy is growing. At the same time, our youth is also maturing. We need to think about their education, health, and jobs now. That is why this year we are bringing $8bn in investment to Tashkent. Thanks to this, there will be new jobs, educational institutions, and infrastructure facilities in Shaykhantahur,” said President Mirziyoyev.

The “Yangi Kamolon” neighborhood has a population of more than 4,600. Local youth are employed in over 60 trade and service outlets. In 2025, a crafts center, shops selling field products and confectionery, a bakery, and a private medical center were established in the neighborhood. As a result, unemployment in the area has been eliminated.
“Craftsmanship has existed in Shaykhantahur since ancient times. Even today, it is a major source of employment and income for people in the district. Therefore, we are adopting a new plan of measures to develop the service sector using the example of Shaykhantahur,” the president stated.

The importance of establishing small libraries in other neighborhoods, similar to the one in “Yangi Kamolon,” was also noted during the visit.
