April 3-5. A delegation of the European Parliament headed by Fulvio Martusciello for the relations with Central Asia is currently visiting Uzbekistan which is taking place at a crucial moment for bilateral relations in connection with Russia's war against Ukraine, the upcoming constitutional referendum in Uzbekistan and the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
Together with the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, the delegation will hold the 16th meeting of the "EU-Uzbekistan" parliamentary cooperation committee in Tashkent, as well as meet with government representatives.
In addition, the European parliamentarians will travel to the cities of Nukus and Moynaq to assess the current situation in Karakalpakstan, including the situation after the events of July 2022, as well as the environmental disaster caused by the drying up of the Aral Sea.
