The visit of the delegation of the Uzcharmsanoat association to South Korea featured a meeting with the JM company, which supplies leather products for the country's automotive industry.
Uzcharmsanoat shared detailed information about the quality of Uzbekistan-manufactured leather products, the raw material base, modern technologies used in enterprises, and the country's investment environment.
JM is the largest leather manufacturer in South Korea. Its leather products are mainly supplied to Hyundai, Kia, and Toyota. The annual income of the company is $250mn. The production facility is fully equipped with Italian and German technologies.
"During the conversation, the company reported that it is aware of the changes and updates in the leather industry in Uzbekistan in recent years. Therefore it plans to purchase secondary and finished leather from our country," the report said.
Also, the delegation of the Uzcharmsanoat association inspected production processes and the quality of products. Here, the representatives of the JM company were presented with business proposals for implementing KSZs established in 16 regions of Uzbekistan, and projects focused on the leather industry.
The company expressed its initiative to open a joint venture in the Tashkent region and supply the leather produced there to the South Korean market and large automotive industry companies.
The company's delegation announced that it is ready to visit Tashkent in April to conduct negotiations with local leather-producing enterprises and discuss the projects to be implemented.
