Director of the Caspian Policy Center in Washington, USA, Efgan Nifti shared his views on Uzbekistan’s participation in the extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ankara, Türkiye, Dunyo reports. According to him, OTS is an important regional organization, which is increasingly becoming an international platform for the countries of the Caspian Sea, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.
‘Members of the organization are actively promoting a number of initiatives and exchanging views on common interests, which, in my opinion, is very important for strengthening interconnectedness in the region, as well as developing partnerships in the framework of transport and energy projects and customs regulation.
I believe that the chairmanship of Uzbekistan is important in this regard. Because here in the US, we also look forward to working with OTS’ on initiatives promoted by Tashkent.
We look forward to discussing the important issues that the region is facing and I think that the OTS can be an important partner not only for the countries of the region but also for external actors who are interested in cooperation’, Egan Nifti said.
