The Agency for Cultural Heritage has set up an online platform to trade objects of cultural value, milliyboylik.uz
The platform allows the owner of cultural property to submit the request to the Agency, and the panel of experts will appraise the object before releasing its decision in 30 days.
The purchased objects are handed over to the country's museums. The former owner will not receive payment for the work immediately: 15% will be given to him after the signing of the sale agreement, and the rest - after the value is included in the exposition.
In May 2022, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to develop the service sector in museums”. According to the document, the country's museums will annually receive 3.5 billion soums for the purchase of cultural property from the population.
