Turkmenistan will send medicines, food, and necessary goods to Ukranian children as humanitarian aid, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on March 14.
Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the relevant order. The document states that the order was signed following the 'primordial traditions of good neighborliness and humanism of the Turkmen people.'
The order is addressed to the state departments of the medical and textile industries, as well as the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan has maintained a policy of positive neutrality according to the Constitution since 1995. In this regard, official Ashgabat does not comment on dramatic events worldwide, including in Ukraine, against which Russia launched 'a special military operation' in February 2022.
In October, Turkmenistan and Ukraine celebrated 30 years of diplomatic relations. Berdimuhamedov sent a letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski.
'Relations between our states are based on mutual respect, equality, and mutual trust, the head of state said, stressing that Turkmenistan is interested in expanding bilateral ties.'
