In order to strengthen the place, role and influence of the Oliy Majlis society, some powers of the president are transferred to the parliament in Uzbekistan, UzA reports.
The new law says that the heads of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Accounts Chamber are first considered in the Senate, and then appointed by the president. Also, the Senate elects the heads of antimonopoly and anti-corruption agencies.
The draft amendments to the Constitution of Uzbekistan do not allow a candidate to hold the president's office more than twice.
