'Turkmengaz' recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with oil and gas company 'ADNOC' (UAE) to participate in the development of the super-giant gas field Galkynysh in Turkmenistan.
The UAE is also interested in the development of gas transportation infrastructure, product marketing, and investment activities, a representative of the state concern told Daryo.
It should be noted that Galkynysh is the world's largest onshore gas field, which is a source of supply to China and CIS. The super-giant could also become a raw material base for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, which has been under construction since 2015.
So far, all industrial development at Galkynysh has been carried out under service contracts, including with companies from the UAE - in 2013, Petrofac and Gulf Oil & Gas Fze implemented a $4bn project there. CNPC (PRC), LG, and Hyundai (South Korea) were also involved in the development of Galkynysh.
