Uzbek banks can now offer preferential student loans to young people studying IT specialties in private educational institutions, according to a recent government decree.
Loans will be issued in banks at the expense of the Fund for Financing Educational Loans under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which will annually fund up to five thousand people with this type of loan.
Financing will be available for a maximum of 4 years, for young people aged 14 to 30 years old. Educational institutions must be non-governmental entities and residents of IT park. A grace period of up to one year will also be allowed for borrowers.
