On February 15, the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan travelled to China to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with CEEC ENERGY CHINA for the construction of photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 2000 MW in Kashkadarya, Bukhara and Samarkand regions.
The document should help to attract $2 billion of direct investments. It is planned to put the units into full operation by 2024 generating 5.2 billion kWh of electricity per year.
