Uzbekistan is working on introducing amendments to the basic law of the country. According to the proposed amendments, "housing rights" of each citizen are going be reflected in the constitution. This means that the demolition of housing for the needs of the state will be carried out only after a court decision. The owner of the housing, meanwhile, is provided with full compensation in equal value and in advance.
Illegal demolitions in some cases have been a headache for residents in recent years. Most residents complained that they did not receive compensation in full, and the demolition was carried out against their will.
Now, learning from the experiences of other countries such as Poland and Switzerland and in accordance with the Declaration of Human Rights and International Pact on Political and Civil Rights changes are being introduced into the constitution by the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
