A roadshow to attract foreign investment to Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector will be held in Dubai (UAE) on 26-27 April 2023, according to the organizers, Turkmengaz State Concern and GaffneyCline (UK).
"Turkmenistan’s ability to supply energy, from both renewable and classic hydrocarbon resources will be addressed, as well methane reduction," the information said.
The main agenda includes the next phase of commercial development of the world's largest onshore gas field, Galkynysh, whose reserves are estimated at 26 trillion cubic meters.
This hydrocarbon reservoir is the source of the current supply of gas to China and CIS countries. In addition, its phased development should potentially secure supplies through the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline under construction and the much-discussed Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline to Turkey and Europe.
The press release said new energy trade routes and commodity cycles should be sought to alleviate the global energy crisis driven by an urgent need to address energy security.
Investors would also be encouraged to invest in underground gas storage facilities and the national sector of the Caspian Sea (offshore Blocks 21 and 23). In addition, Turkmenistan is targeting the modernization of oil refineries in Turkmenbashi and Seidi.
