China opened a forum to join Central Asia countries in industry and investment cooperation in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, on Thursday (February 16).
He Lifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), attended the forum via video link and delivered a speech. Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a congratulatory letter to the China + Central Asia industry and investment cooperation forum.
Reading President Xi's congratulatory letter to the forum, He Lifeng stressed that the letter sent by Xi demonstrated the great importance the leader places on the forum and they will firmly implement the requirements of the congratulatory letter and the consensus reached by Xi and other heads of state on deepening cooperation and promoting development, make full use of the China + Central Asia industry and investment cooperation forum platform, and work for more fruitful industrial and investment cooperation between China and Central Asian countries.
Deputy prime ministers of the five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, also gave speeches via video link at the forum. Nearly 300 representatives from the embassies of five Central Asian countries in China and enterprises at home and abroad attended the forum jointly organized by the NDRC and the provincial government of Shandong.
