In the near future, the population of Tashkent will exceed 3mn people, Uzbekistan's State Statistics Committee has reported. Reportedly, in early January, the Uzbek capital registered over 2.9mn people; over 1.5mn women and approximately 1.4mn men.
In comparison with the spring indicators, in nine months the population of the capital surged by 76,000 people.
