President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Friday (February 10) arrived in the Jizzakh region, the press service of Uzbekistan's President reports. Initially, the head of state visited one of the farms in the Pakhtakor district with a total area of 100 ha. The lion’s share of the farm, 80 ha, is planted with cotton and grain.
Talking to the local representatives of the agricultural sector and the leaders of cotton-textile clusters, the President instructed to increase yields, and ensure the employment of the Jizzakh's population.
‘At one time it was impossible to provide the people with at least 1 ha of land. And now we have allocated 200,000 ha. Why have we done this? In a bid to make the land a source of income for people. Now the result depends on the coordinated work of the two sides’, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
