The 2023 state program draft submitted for public discussion proposes that the cities of Samarkand and Namangan may become the special administrative units controlled by Tashkent.
The draft bill should be submitted to the Legislative Chamber after the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis issues its decision on establishing the republican cities of Samarkand and Namangan and their districts, and borders.
Programs for the development of the cities of Samarkand and Namangan as cities of republican importance will be adopted until August.
The reports of the hokims of Samarkand and Namangan on the implementation of the program will be heard at the meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The administrations of Samarkand and Namangan regions, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance were appointed to be responsible for the execution of the task.
