Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mansurbek Kilichev met the President of the Egyptian company El Sewedy Electric Ahmed al-Suwaydi to discuss issues of investing in major projects in Uzbekistan.
The President of El Sewedy Electric said that entering the Central Asian market is one of the company's main priorities in the near future.
“Uzbekistan is considered the main destination in the region. We are interested in creating enterprises in Uzbekistan specializing in the production of electricity and transformers,” Ahmad al-Suwaydi said.
It was announced that the company's delegation plans to visit Tashkent to discuss these issues and identify promising areas for mutual cooperation.
El Sewedy Electric has more than 30 units in about 20 countries, employing 17,000 people.
According to the Uzbek officials’ report, the need for power grids in the republic would exceed 3000 transformers and 12 000 kilometres of cables.
