Umarbek Novruzov, a resident of the Jambay province of Samarkand, detected an unusual bird nearby his home, not similar to local species. Reportedly, the Uzbek citizen appealed to the environmental specialists and found out that his discovery is listed in the Red Data Book.
The member of a grebe family of waterbirds can be found in western North America, in the temperate and subtropical latitudes of Eurasia, and partly in Africa. Russian scientists have been studying the population of black-necked grebes for many years.
The detected bird is now under the control of the District Public Inspectors and is undergoing a special medical examination. Specialists plan to release the grebe shortly.
