Uzbekistan's Ambassador Abat Fayzullayev held a meeting with the Deputy State Secretary for Development of Eastern Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Ádám Stifter, to discuss the implementation of the agreements reached in the bilateral summits.
The Hungarian side welcomed the planned opening of the Embassy of Uzbekistan to Budapest within the framework of the agreements inked during the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Hungary in October 2022. As noted, opening a diplomatic mission in the Hungarian capital will further deepen bilateral relations and fully implement the planned activities and practical actions for cooperation.
‘The functioning of permanent embassies in the capitals of the two countries fully corresponds to our mutual relations of strategic cooperation,’ Ádám Stifter stressed.
The parties also note that the Uzbek ‘Mortgage-bank’ acquisition by the Hungarian OTP allows for intensifying mutual investment and trade relations between the two countries' business circles.
The meeting also discussed the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the organization of the first Uzbek-Hungarian interregional forum.
