Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov on Friday (January 27) made a phone call to Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov in connection with the terrorist attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran, the press service of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has reported.

‘The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack, expressed condolences to the family of the attack victim and the fraternal people of Azerbaijan, and expressed solidarity with the Azerbaijani side,’ the message reads.

A security official was killed and two people were wounded when a shooter opened fire at Azerbaijan's embassy in Iran, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said on Friday (January 27).

Police in Tehran said they have arrested a suspect and are investigating the case.
