Uzbek Ambassador to Lithuania Kadanbay Sultanov held a virtual meeting with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Mantas Adomėnas, Dunyo informs.
Reportedly, the two sides discussed practical steps to raise the level of political dialogue, including through the inter-parliamentary line, strengthening trade, economic and investment, and technological cooperation, increasing the volume of financial and technical assistance to Uzbekistan, expansion of the legal framework regulating various areas of bilateral relations.
Mantas Adomėnas stressed that Lithuania positively assesses ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, highlighting that the republic is now becoming Lithuania’s key partner in CA, as this would contribute to increasing the volume of financial, technical, and grant assistance provided to Uzbekistan, including using the possibilities of various specialized programs of the European Union.
The meeting discussed the schedule, agenda, and the level of upcoming contacts in 2023, as well as practical issues of the development of multifaceted Uzbek-Lithuanian cooperation.
Lithuanian Vice Foreign Minister visited Uzbekistan in September 2022 to participate in the new round of bilateral political consultations. Deputy Foreign Minister Gairat Fazilov represented Uzbekistan.
