The draft law "On amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of Uzbekistan and the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan" heard at the plenary session on January 9 envisages strengthening the responsibility for using the pedagogic staff of educational institutions as forced labour.
That means:
- a fine in the amount of up to 3500 USD, ($300 now);
- Illegally interfering with the professional activity of a pedagogic employee of an educational institution in the form of influencing the correct and impartial assessment of the knowledge of students,
It is envisaged to introduce a norm that provides for the imposition of a fine from ten to fifteen times the basic calculation amount to citizens, and from fifteen to twenty times to officials, or to administrative imprisonment for a period of up to fifteen days.
Also, according to the Criminal Code, in the case of committing an administrative penalty for administrative coercion of work against a pedagogue of an educational institution, the offender shall be fined from one hundred and fifty times to two hundred times the amount of the base calculation or be deprived of certain rights for up to three years. or it is proposed to add a new norm strengthening punishment with correctional work for up to three years.
