In 2017-2021, the number of general education schools in Uzbekistan increased to 571. This was reported by the Development Strategy Center.
It is noted that the number of secondary schools jumped from 9,718 in 2017 to 10,289 in 2021 as part of the action strategy. Including:
- 135 non-state secondary schools;
- 14 Presidential schools opened.
As a result, the number of students in schools increased from 5 271 300 to 6 304 600.
11-year compulsory school education was re-introduced based on the suggestions of parents. 170 new generation textbooks for primary classes were created in collaboration with foreign experts.
In 2020-2025, the concept of the development of inclusive education was adopted in the public education system.
