The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan urged citizens not to ski on frozen lakes due to thick ice cover.
Large rivers, lakes, and even waterfalls in some regions have frozen over the cold in Uzbekistan. Despite the reported warming in recent days, the ice covering the lakes has not melted. The Ministry of Emergency Situations warned citizens about the danger of skating on the ice of such lakes.
‘Lakes in the regions of our republic have a high probability of cracks due to the lack of thick ice cover. It is dangerous for the life of those who roll on the ice’, the message reads.
In this regard, the Ministry advises citizens not to ride on frozen lakes.
