Uzbekistan's Acting Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, on Monday (January 23), met with the Secretary-General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay.
The parties spotlighted the importance of the comprehensive implementation of the initiatives unveiled by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the CICA summit in October 2022 in Astana to strengthen cooperation in various areas, including regional stability and food security.
Uzbekistan is the coordinator of the CICA confidence-building measures in the human dimension in 2020-2023 and the co-chair of the CICA Youth Council. The schedule of planned events under the auspices of the CICA was discussed, including the next meeting of the Youth Council, which is set to be held in April this year in the historic city of Samarkand.
