Prominent Andijan-born teacher of the Russian language Tolib Keldiev who authored many textbooks died aged 70.
In 1975 Tolib Keldiev graduated from the Andijan Pedagogical Institute of Languages and served three years as a teacher in his native city after working in the capital school. Then, in 1983, he was invited to the Department of Russian Language at the Tashkent Institute of National Economy (modern-day Tashkent Economic University), where he worked for 34 years.
‘Primarily, I am a teacher,’ he said in an interview with the press service of the Tashkent council in 2018.
I was never interested in becoming the head of the department or anything else. I thought my place was in the audience. However, I love to work with children - even teaching at the department at the university; at the same time, I worked at the lycéum. So working with students inspires me.
Along with his textbooks, Tolib Keldiev also authored a Comprehensive educational dictionary of difficulties of the Russian language.
