The Royal Society for Asian Affairs in London has held an art fair dedicated to literature of Central Asia (CA) and Uzbekistan, Dunyo informs.
Chaired by Uzbekistan's Ambassador for Tourism, Sophie Ibbotson, the event saw writers, academics, and cultural representatives of the United Kingdom of Great Britain (UK).
The guests reflected on the Great Silk Road's key role in arts, the Eastern Renaissance, and Jadids, as well as ongoing reforms in the cultural and educational life of modern-day Uzbekistan. Besides, the fair proposed launching literary clubs between the capitals of the two countries, London and Tashkent.
Representatives of British culture and art underlined the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Uzbek people and the role and importance of the territory of new-day Uzbekistan in the formation and development of Islamic culture, science, and philosophy. They also recognized that this territory later paved the path to the European Renaissance.
