The Health Minister of Uzbekistan, Amrillo Inoyatov talked about 113,000 patients with oncological diseases registered in Uzbekistan during an interview with UzA.
"The most important task is to detect the disease at an early stage. For this, modern mobile mammographs were delivered to all regions," the minister said.
He said that it might make it possible to fight the disease effectively.
"The comprehensive state programs have been adopted, and measures are being taken to provide free of charge all types of drugs. This ensures that not all patients come to the center, and that there is no artificial queue. Diagnosis and treatment measures are being taken in the regions themselves in order to create comfort for patients," Inoyatov said.
According to the Health official, an oncology center in Khorezm treats 7,000 patients. In 2019, 3,500 of them went to the capital for treatment with a warrant, but by 2020, this number has halved. That is, the arrival of patients to the center decreased by 3.5 thousand people and 1 thousand 700 warrants. In 2021, this number dropped to 750, and by 2022 it was only 131.
The new 650-bed center at the Tashkent Medical Academy premises is expected to use about 10 technologies that have not yet been introduced in Uzbekistan. It is planned to gradually introduce such centers not only in Tashkent but also in all regions.
