On January 20, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decision "On measures aimed at further development of phthisiatrics and pulmonology services in 2023-2026".
According to the document, starting from January 1, 2023, the number of screening examinations for latent tuberculosis infection will be increased to 1 million. The coverage of preventive treatment of persons suffering from this disease will be increased to 21 thousand.
Rapid gene-molecular diagnosis of tuberculosis micro bacterium will be extended to 120,000. Medicines will be provided to 18,000 patients with tuberculosis:
- a) Line 1 (patients with drug-sensitive tuberculosis) - 15 thousand;
- Lines 2 and 3 (patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis) - 3 thousand (2020 - 1.9 thousand, 2021 - 2.3 thousand);
- b) a list of persons belonging to the risk group prone to tuberculosis among the population is formed by the district medical association and:
- teenagers and adults x-ray (3.5 million per year);
- children are subjected to immunological examinations (520 thousand per year).
A Unified electronic register of phthisiatric diseases will enable to do screening for latent tuberculosis infection as part of annual examinations of internal affairs officers who are in direct contact with prisoners in the risk group.
