Families affected by child casualties allegedly after consuming DOK-1 MAX syrup by Marion Biotech may become eligible for financial aid, Elmira Bosithonova, Deputy Minister of Health, announced on January 18.
'Legal proceedings for compensation can be started only if it is confirmed with a document which medicine he (child) drank and which medicine he was poisoned with,' the Deputy Minister said, adding that at the moment, investigations are underway on each child casualty.
A criminal case was initiated against this drug imported from India to Uzbekistan Quramax Medical LLC. During the initial investigation, it was found that Dok-1 MAX was not subjected to laboratory tests in the prescribed manner. After that, the sale of all drugs imported to Uzbekistan by Quramax was stopped.
