Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan on January 18 held talks with Ambassador of Iran Hamid Nairabadi.
The two sides stressed the importance of comprehensive implementation of the agreements reached following the official visit of Ebrahim Raisi to Uzbekistan in September 2022. In addition, an exchange of views occurred on the planned contact schedule at the bilateral level and within regional organizations.
The proximity of the positions of Uzbekistan and Iran in Afghanistan was noted.
The readiness of the parties to promote joint projects in the trade and economic direction was confirmed. Furthermore, the meeting drew particular attention to the issues of expanding cooperation in the field of transport, including through the development of new international transport corridors, taking into account the interests of the two countries.
