The delegation of Terminals Holding Sole Proprietorship visited Navoi International Airport to conduct a feasibility study of the cargo terminal infrastructure and operation process. This is reported by the press service of Uzbekistan Airports.
At the end of November, an agreement was signed between Uzbekistan Airports and Terminals Holding on the management of the cargo terminal of the Navoi International Airport that envisions joint work on the development of the cargo hub of Navoi Airport using modern technologies and investments.
The Arab leading company is studying the goods handling process and cooperation with customs authorities, as well as the legal norms related to the field of cargo transportation in Uzbekistan.
Based on the results of the analysis, the company's specialists will draw up a cargo hub development strategy and a forecast of promising routes for cargo flights.
The cargo terminal of Navoi International Airport was built in 2008 as part of the agreement between Uzbekistan Airways and Korean Air, and the agreement was valid until 2019.
In 2022, Uzbekistan Airports reconstructed the cargo terminal and purchased special equipment.
Currently, about 40 cargo flights are received at the Navoi airport every month, including flights for maintenance, transfer, import and export cargo.
