Bukhara region has decided to postpone the openings of schools, specialized secondary educational institutions, and universities until January 16.
‘Taking into account the numerous appeals of parents in connection with the cold weather it was decided that education in all educational institutions of the Bukhara region will begin on January 16’, the statement says.
On January 5, winter holidays in all educational institutions of Uzbekistan due to frost were extended until January 17. On 10 January, however, it was reported that the Government had allowed the regional authorities to determine their vacation schedule. In the Bukhara region, as in most regions of Uzbekistan, it was decided to reopen educational institutions on 11 January.
Kindergartens in the region will also resume work from January 16, the city administration says.
