Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his address to the parliament drew particular attention to public transport, announcing that 2,000 buses will be brought to the republic before Navruz, the holiday widely celebrated in the Central Asian republic on March 21.
‘The public transport system will change for the better. 1,000 modern buses will be purchased for the city of Tashkent, and 7 underground metro stations will be launched. Thanks to these reforms, more than 500,000 residents and guests of the capital will have improved services daily.
To improve the quality of passenger transportation in the regions, another 1,000 buses will be put into service. This will facilitate the movement of about 1mn residents, who are facing difficulties due to lack of public transportation’, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
