Uzbekistan’s state bodies are to conduct gender auditing to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women and men and perform a comprehensive gender approach in the activities of state bodies and organizations, including in implementing personnel policy.
Gender audits are carried out based on a three-year plan by the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan as part of public scrutiny and implemented following an approved methodology considering the specifics of government agencies.
Qualified specialists in this field are to conduct gender audits voluntarily. It is a vital tool to assess and check the institutionalization of gender equality in organizations, including in their policies, programs, and projects.
