State Museum of History of Uzbekistan is to host a photo exhibition entitled '17 Faces of Action' dedicated to the international conference that condemns gender-based violence. Authored by Saida Mirziyoyeva, the Head of the Communications and Information Policy Branch of the Executive Office of the Presidential Administration, and organized by the Public Fund for Support and Development of National Mass Media, the exhibition is to decipher the role of women in the modern world.
Tatiana Valovaya, the 13th Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UN Geneva) and the first woman to occupy the position said that the project is envisaged to be implemented jointly with UN member states.
‘We have an idea to make a project with UN member states: to select 17 women in each country, who represent 17 Sustainable Development Goals and hold an exhibition. The 17 sustainable development goals are everything we care about: the fight against poverty, decent education and work, the protection of the environment and the water resources, human rights, the right to a peaceful existence,’ she said.
The first such photo exhibition was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Uzbekistan will become the 2nd country to host it.
