"Uzbekistan 24" channel's "Menimcha" program published a report from the ongoing court session in Bukhara region regarding the Nukus incident.
Why is the court case taking place in Bukhara?
"Because the pre-trial detention centre in Nukus is currently being renovated all the suspects were transferred to the detention centres in Khorezm and Bukhara regions. And most of them are being held in Bukhara. So, it was decided to hold the trial in the city of Bukhara," Aziz Obidov, head of the press service of the Supreme Court said.
Who admits and denies the charges?
“So far, 21 of the 22 suspects have fully pleaded guilty, while Dauletmurat Tajimuratov, the organizer of the rally and person who wanted to run for the chairman of Dzhokorgi Kenges, partially admitted his guilt. "I do not consider myself guilty of the death of people," he said.
Azamat Turdanov, who ensured the participation of sportsmen in the mass riots in Nukus on July 1-2, and took Tajimuratov on his shoulders to take over Dzhokorghi Kenges, said: "We admit our guilt, but the real reason for our coming here is Dauletmurat Tajimuratov's separatism his videos about his ideas poisoned the people's brains," he commented.
Lolagul Kallikhanova, who joined this organized group and spread separatist ideas through social networks, and distributed materials calling for public disorder, expressed the following opinion: "I apologize to the people who lost their children. I didn't think it would reach this level. I did not intend to encroach on the sovereignty of the country. I sincerely regret my crime."
