The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Norov, invited the OSCE partners to use the International Transport and Logistics Hub in Termiz to provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people. He also called to support the establishment of an educational cluster in the city to train specialists for the Afghan economy at the 29th OSCE Ministerial Council held on December 1 at the Former EC1 Power Plant in Łódź, Poland, the press service of the MFA reports.
Norov emphasized that the prospects of stable development and security in the Central Asian region are inextricably linked with ensuring peace in neighbouring Afghanistan.
"The priority tasks of the international community should be to prevent human casualties in Afghanistan, restore the country's economy and integrate it into regional trade and economic relations, and implement important infrastructure and social projects in this country," he said.
According to the head of the MFA, the implementation of the Termiz-Mazari Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway project will strengthen the interdependence between Central and South Asia, involve Afghanistan in economic cooperation and open up great opportunities to become a bridge connecting the two regions.
