Uzbekistan is included in the list of the top five CIS countries with the most popular sites of attraction and well-developed infrastructure for winter tourism, the TurStat reports.
According to the portal, the top five include Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia.
Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent, the Silk Road cities of Bukhara and Samarkand, and the Chimgan ski resort made it to the top of the republic's most visited destinations in the winter season. Likewise, Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek, Karakol ski resort, and Issyk-Kul Lake helped the country get on the rating list as one of the tourists' favorites. In Kazakhstan, tourists usually recreate in its capital Astana, as well as in the country's largest metropolis Almaty and its Shymnulak mountain resort and Burabay village.
In Azerbaijan, tourists usually visit Baku's capital and the country's northwestern city of Sheki. Besides, tourists recreate in the ski resorts of Shahdag and Tufanlag mountain resorts, as well as the health resort of Naftalan. In Armenia, the capital Yerevan and the ski resort Tsakhkadzor attract the country's most visitors in winter.
