A delegation led by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tawfig F. AlRabiah, visited Uzbekistan on September 27, the press service of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan reports.
The dignitaries were welcomed at the Tashkent International Airport by Muzaffar Komilov, the adviser to the president, Sadiq Toshboyev, the chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs, Mufti Nuriddin Khaliqnazarov, the chairman of the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan.
The main purpose of this visit is to improve cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially in the fields of religious and education, research, tourism, and transport.
During the visit to the country, the representatives of the delegation of Saudi Arabia are expected to hold talks with the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Religious Affairs, and the heads of relevant ministries and departments.
