An exhibition dedicated to the rich heritage of Uzbekistan will be opened for the first time on November 23 at the Louvre Museum in France. Saida Mirziyoyeva, deputy chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mass-media Foundation, posts on Telegram.
Over the past few years, this project has been thoroughly prepared by the team of the Fund for the Development of Culture and Art under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the curator of the Louvre Museum, Yannick Lintz, the scientific curator Rocco Rante, and the scientific advisor of the project, Shakir Pidayev.
The exhibition tells the story of the Great Silk Road that passed through the southern region of present-day Uzbekistan and includes 169 exhibits spanning nearly two thousand years, including 138 artefacts from 16 museums in Uzbekistan, as well as world 31 museum objects from leading museums.
The exhibition is of historical importance in terms of the intercultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and France, and it shows the rich culture of the region to international art lovers.
