The Center for Economic Research and Reforms provided Daryo with changes in the trade turnover of Uzbekistan with Central Asian countries for January-August of this year.
According to the results of January-August 2022, the volume of foreign trade of Uzbekistan with the countries of Central Asia grew by 15.6% and reached 4.6 billion dollars, which made up 14.2% of the total volume of trade.
At the same time, Uzbekistan's export to the countries of Central Asia amounted to 1.9 billion dollars (an increase of 18.2 per cent), and its import hit 2.6 billion dollars (up by 13.8 per cent).
Trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the countries of Central Asia at the end of January-August 2022:
- Foreign trade turnover (FTT) with Kazakhstan summed by 2.9 billion dollars (+ 15.8 per cent), the export volume reached 883.9 million dollars, whereas the import hit 2 billion dollars.
- FTT with Kyrgyzstan amounted to 756.5 million dollars (+ 26.5 per cent), the volume of export rose by 597.6 million dollars, and the import by 158.9 million dollars.
- FTT with Turkmenistan amounted to 533.5 million dollars (+ 2.7 per cent), the volume of export soared by 146.5 million dollars, and the import hit 387.0 million dollars.
- FTT with Tajikistan amounted to 411.4 million dollars (+ 15.2 per cent), the export volume reached 308.8 million dollars, and the import volume made 102.5 million dollars.
- The largest share of Uzbekistan's trade turnover with Central Asian countries corresponds to Kazakhstan - 63 per cent, the rest: Kyrgyzstan - 16 per cent, Turkmenistan - 12 per cent and Tajikistan - 9 per cent.
