The delegation of Uzbekistan paid a visit to Spain to study water management legislation, water resources management, institutional, and legal structures, and mechanism of financial and economic support of water resources, within the framework of the implementation of the 2nd stage of the World Bank’s “Management of water resources” project in the Fergana Valley, "Dunyo" news agency reports.
The members of the delegation at the embassy visited Spain's "Gedepsa S.A." and met with representatives of the promotion and consulting company which was founded in Madrid in 1982 and has representative offices in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia and Uzbekistan.
The company implements projects in Uzbekistan involving large Spanish companies operating in the fields of water and ecology, industry, agriculture and education, involving educational and scientific institutions.
The Spanish firm introduced the water resources management project, which will be implemented in cooperation with leading Spanish companies such as "Ayeco" and "Inima".
According to the results of the meeting, the Director of the Center for the Implementation of Foreign Investment Projects in the Water Industry Bakhtiyor Kamolov and "Gedepsa S.A.," President Alejandro Pastrana Molero signed the Memorandum of Cooperation.
The document envisions joint investment projects aimed at creating effective water supply systems, increasing the efficiency of water resources consumption and use, and introducing innovative technologies for the use of alternative energy resources in the field of water management.
