According to Sadiq Safoyev, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Samarkand Summit proves that Uzbekistan's influence and position at the international level are strengthening.
“The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is recognized as a force that ensures stability. Against the background of the threats, the world community expects a lot from the Summit. People hope that today's armed conflicts will help countries to resolve them.
"Truly, the world has changed. And Uzbekistan has also changed in recent years. This land cannot be compared with five years ago. The position of the country and its influence are increasing. Uzbekistan's will to resolve regional and global problems is also evident within the framework of the SCO. Inviting the participating countries, eliminating mutual conflicts, and bringing them together require high diplomatic skills and a solid reputation of the host country.
Undoubtedly, this summit will be fruitful. It is achieved not only through meetings and discussions, but through practical work," Safoyev said.
