The director of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, Eldor Aripov, reacted to the article of the head of state on the SCO summit in Samarkand.
"As the president noted, the crisis of trust and alienation between the countries are intensifying, which causes conflicts and makes it difficult to restore the global economy, after the pandemic. These perils threaten the foundations of states and people's lives," the expert stressed.
According to Aripov, the Uzbek President does not only list the problems but also shows the most realistic and possible solutions - no country can overcome these difficulties alone. The only way to do this is through constructive dialogue and multilateral cooperation.
Over the past five to six years, Uzbekistan's relations with the Central Asian states have completely revamped leading to a thaw almost completely "frozen" trade, open border crossings, and mutual understandings. All these measures have led to a 3-fold rise in interregional trade over the last five years.
"Uzbekistan is not teaching how to live, but it is showing by its example that it is possible to achieve mutual harmony," Eldor Aripov noted.
