Iceland dominates the list as the most peaceful place on earth followed by New Zealand and Ireland in third.
Ukraine, where the Russian armed forces have been conducting a special military operation this year, ranks 153rd, 7 above its invader. Afghanistan continues to hit the bottom of the ranking in 163rd place. All three of these countries were included in the group of most dangerous countries.
Turkmenistan ranked 104th, Kazakhstan 97th, Tajikistan 92nd, and Kyrgyzstan 91st. Among the countries of Central Asia, Uzbekistan became the safest - 86th place.
All the countries of Central Asia turned out to be safer than countries like Israel, USA and Turkey.
The Global Peace Index ranking is developed annually by sociologists and economists of the international group of experts of the Institute of Peace in cooperation with the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies of the University of Sydney.
Experts to compile the final index of internal and external conflicts, their intensity and number of victims; relations with neighbouring countries; the share of refugees among the population; level of distrust among citizens; political instability and public order; political terror; the rate of terrorist attacks; the number of murders per 100,000 people; the number of prisoners; examines indicators such as the percentage of serious crimes.
