Akmal Murodov, head of Uzsuvtaminot, State water supply company, said that the government wanted to provide 87% of the population with clean drinking water by 2026 which currently covers 71.2%.
Murodov also talked about the projects carried out on the development of drinking water supply and wastewater systems within the framework of the state programs "Obod Kyshlo" and "Obod Mahalla" during the press conference.
According to the head of Uzsuvtaminot, it is planned to allocate 1 trillion soums for the implementation of construction and installation works in 368 objects and reconstruct 403 drinking and wastewater facilities.
As of August 1, 200.1 billion soums were financed, 1,054 kilometres of drinking and wastewater networks were laid with these funds, and construction and reconstruction works were carried out in 41 drinking and wastewater facilities.
